I’m not a fan of Electronic Arts, EA for short. In recent years, the group has been too profit-oriented for me, neglecting the quality of the products sold. What a pity, because there are many very good developers in the ranks EA’s and were. No EA is not to blame for the death of developer studios like Maxis or Origin Systems but that’s a topic for another time!
Today I’m talking about the subscription service EA Access, which has been available on the Xbox One for almost 5 years and is also available for the Playstation 4 since July 24, 2017. Btw. the variant for the PC is Origin Access and Nintendo is (for the time being?) empty.
So what is EA Access?
EA Access (how often can you use this name in a post) is an online service in the subscription model, which costs 3.99 € per month or 24.99 € per year. The service offers 10% special offers, the possibility to pre-play new releases and of course a selection of games that can be played for free while the subscription is active.
I consider the selection of games to be quite successful, since you are not only facing the usual suspects like Battlefied, UFC, Plants Vs. Zombies also games like Unravel 1 & 2 and Fe.
It should be noted that the users of the Xbox One have a much wider choice because of the „backward compatibility“ of the Xbox One!
What is my general opinion about EA Access?
I think this service is a very good idea and the price is very reasonable. The fact that I have completed this subscription does not deceive me, however, that I continue to be extremely critical of EA and condemn many of the Group’s practices, with the bizarre DLC policy also being pursued by other publishers.
Despite everything, I will rate the games fairly and praise, if I think it appropriate, but criticize, if I think it is right!
That was it so far with a previous thought EA Access. Do you also use this service? Let me know in the comments and we’ll read in the next post!
